CCPA Compliance

SwapRise is committed to respecting your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and its amendment, the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). This page explains how these laws apply to our informational website and how you can exercise your rights.

Scope and Applicability

The CCPA/CPRA applies to California residents. While SwapRise does not collect personal information through user registration or accounts, we may automatically collect certain data via cookies, web analytics, and server logs when you visit our site. This includes IP addresses, browser types, device identifiers, and usage patterns. These data elements may qualify as "personal information" under CCPA/CPRA if they can reasonably be linked to you or your device.

Your Rights Under CCPA/CPRA

As a California resident, you have the following rights:

  • Right to Know: You may request details about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you in the past 12 months.
  • Right to Delete: You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions.
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing: You have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. While we do not sell personal information for monetary compensation, we may allow third-party analytics and advertising partners to collect data via cookies for targeted advertising, which may constitute "sharing" under CPRA.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: You may exercise your rights without being denied services, charged different prices, or given a different level of service.
  • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: You may direct us to limit the use of sensitive personal information, though we do not collect such data beyond what is necessary for site functionality.

How We Comply

SwapRise complies with CCPA/CPRA by:

  • Providing clear notice at or before data collection
  • Not selling personal information for monetary value
  • Offering a clear opt-out mechanism for sharing
  • Responding to verified consumer requests within legal timeframes
  • Training staff on CCPA/CPRA obligations

Data We Process

Under CCPA/CPRA, the personal information we may collect includes:

  • Internet or other electronic network activity (e.g., pages visited, clickstream data)
  • Device identifiers and IP addresses
  • Usage patterns and browsing behavior
  • Geolocation data (approximate, based on IP)

We do not collect names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, or financial account details unless voluntarily provided via contact forms.

Legal Basis for Processing

Our processing of personal information is based on legitimate interest to operate, maintain, and improve our informational website, ensure security, analyze traffic, and deliver relevant content. We do not rely on consent for these purposes under CCPA/CPRA, but we honor opt-out requests.
